Pictures and videos
Uploading pictures is very important if you want people to take an interest in your listing. We know that listings with photos get over 200% more views than listings without. Examples of pictures you could take: the animal itself, any offspring, parents, the male they are running with, pedigree certificate. Videos are an excellent way of showing off your stock, and would typically be of the stock in the field.

The more information you can add the better! Here is a list of topics you could include in the description: breeding history, health scheme, TB area, vaccinations, temperament, reason for sale, pasture type, living conditions, pedigree information, EBV information, links to appropriate websites etc.
After the photo and description sections, there is a page called “Breeding (Optional)”. Toggle on Pedigree to Yes and a menu will appear below. In the EBV’s section select either Breedplan or Basco, enter the name, and copy the link from either the Breedplan or Basco website for your animal.
If you are having difficulties, you can contact us online with the website link of the EBV’s and we will upload them for you.
We ask you to include a price per head of your stock when creating a listing. This is to avoid time wasters on your behalf, and we have found that it is a popular feature of the site.
If you are unsure on the value of your stock, look at other similar adverts on the website to compare with. Sold adverts are also visible, so you can see what has been popular in the past. From here, consider what might be different about your stock, some factors that influence price are: TB status, health status, pedigree, named sires, weight, level of fitness, number of movements, performance recorded statistics, on farm management (worming, vaccinations etc), and whether they are guaranteed in-lamb or in-calf, or fertility tested.
Users can pay to make their listing premium, meaning the listing is guaranteed to appear on our biweekly newsletter and social media streams, and also appears at the top of the page. There is a £10 ex VAT fee to make listings premium.
